Swedish participants can choose to pay either by credit card or by invoice.
Invoice to Swedish organizations will be sent as an electronic invoice (e-faktura) if possible.
Participants from outside Sweden
All payments must be made in SEK (Swedish krona)
Payment should be made by credit card or by bank transfer (invoice).
When choosing ‘International bank transfer’ in the registration form, you will receive an invoice including bank transfer information (bank account number, IBAN, etc). The invoice is created manually, and will be sent as a pdf attachment by e-mail, usually a few days after registration. The participant/payee is responsible for any bank charges/fees associated with the payment.
Information about payment with credit card
We accept the following credit cards: VISA and Mastercard.
For your safety, our payment system is connected to the 3D Secure system for ensuring the security of payments made through the internet. Your card needs to be connected to Verified by Visa or Mastercard SecureCode. Your bank can inform you if your card is connected, and if not already, how it can be connected.
If you receive an error message when paying with your card, please check with your bank to see if they have a block on overseas payments, a block on internet payments, and/or a limit on the amount that can be charged in one day. These are common reasons why a payment initially does not go through.
According to Swedish and EU legislation, 25% Swedish VAT will be added to all registration fees.
This according to EU legislation and regulation for conferences and events (C-647/17, EU:C:2019:195, of 13 March 2019 and Article 53 of Council Directive 2006/112/EC of 28 November 2016) VAT is paid in the country where services are rendered, e.g. the country in which the conference takes place.
Exception: Swedish participants from governmental public sector organizations (e.g., universities, governmental agencies): No VAT will be added. In this case, you must choose Invoice (Swedish billing address only) as the payment mode and provide the VAT number of your employer.
VAT may be (partially) reclaimed from your home country upon your return from the conference. Please contact your local authority for more information.

SVEPM offers up to three bursary awards to eligible candidates. The bursary covers accommodation and the conference registration fee. In honour of the late Professor George Gettinby, a founding member of the society, SVEPM offers one extra conference bursary award which also covers up to £1,200 for travelling and accommodation costs to promote the participation of early-career researchers from Low and Middle Income Countries.
Should you wish to apply, you need to send the application form to the Honorary Secretary no later than 15 December. Your application will be evaluated by the SVEPM Committee and you will be notified of their decision by 22 January.
In a nutshell, ideal candidates will be:
- For the SVEPM bursary award – applicants based in European countries that are not usually well represented at the conference (namely Mediterranean and Eastern European countries), followed by those based in non-European countries where funding may be difficult to secure
- For the Prof. George Gettinby award – applicants based in Low and Middle Income Countries
- Applicants who are enrolled in a higher degree (e.g. Masters, Doctorate, Residency), followed by those newly employed in the veterinary epidemiology and public health fields;
- Applicants who are SVEPM members (though non-members can also apply!)
- Applicants who have not previously been awarded an SVEPM bursary
- Bursary recipients must register for the conference and provide proof of self-financed travel arrangements no later than February 15th.
Furthermore, they must present a poster (if they are not giving an oral presentation) at the SVEPM meeting and acknowledge SVEPM for the award on the poster/presentation. If they do not have a scientific study to present, they can create a poster describing a topic of interest in their home country, such as epidemiology training for veterinarians, a veterinary public health issue or likewise.
